Terms and conditions

These are some of the terms and conditions to note:

This grant is unavailable for:

  • Activities being funded by or should be funded by the University Clubs grants. (groups should apply for Uni Club funding in the first instance)
  • Overseas travel
  • Academic conferences that are associated with a student's study. (The University should provide academic study grants)

A detailed budget with associated evidence must be supplied during the grant application; your grant application will not proceed without this. We want to know what the funding will explicitly be spent on and what other costs are associated with your event.

Grant recipients must only spend the funds on what is outlined in their application. They must also provide the VUWSA with copies of receipts for VUWSA records. If the recipient doesn't use all the money or the event doesn't happen, they must return the unused funds to VUWSA.

The grants can only be used for activities in the year they are applied for; you can not apply for funding for events next year.

The Grants Panel makes recommendations, but the Executive must ratify and pay them before approval. The Executive can request more information from the Grants Panel or decline a recommendation if they have a valid reason. Once the Executive ratifies the recommendations, the Grants Committee's decisions are final.
